#atozchallenge - j is for journey

Not I, nor anyone else can travel that road for you.
You must travel it by yourself.
It is not far. It is within reach.
Perhaps you have been on it since you were born, and did not know.
Perhaps it is everywhere - on water and land.

In so many ways, I hate to describe anything as a journey because it is so overused.

  • Enjoy the journey.
  • It's about the journey not the destination.
  • I'm on a journey to find myself.

However, try as I might, I can't seem to find a better word to describe the spits and starts, the wanderings, the uphill climb, the easy stroll that is the thing we call life.

Here is what I know. If you want to get somewhere, you have to take the journey. You have to take the first step and the next step and the next.

Only you can find yourself. Only you can wake yourself up. Only you can stay woke.

Sure, there may be teachers and guides along the way. There may be circumstances and situations with the potential to show you something. But you have to respond. You have to do the work. You have to take the steps.

You have to be willing to feel lost and to find your way. Walk with the light and the dark for both have something to offer you. Take time to sit and rest from time to time. Enjoy the view. Keep a travel log! You'll want to remember where you came from and how you got here. It is aa journey, after all.
