Good morning from the rapidly warming South! I am awake and the windows are already open. It's supposed to be eighty degrees here today. On March 11th. Eighty degrees. OK. It's not even officially Spring and we are having Summer-like weather. It wouldn't surprise me for a late snowstorm to swing through in a couple of weeks. Oh no. Did I say that out loud? If it happens and we are buried deeply in the cold and icy stuff, I guess you can blame me.
It's been a few weeks of sickness here in our household. First, I spent almost a week with my neck seized up. Then as healing began and movement returned, the family and I began cycling through various versions of colds and stomach flu. This sort of subverted my plans to re-ignite my creative practice and show up to the easel each day sparked by prompts from Tara Leaver's Express it Month. Only sort of though. I have shown up to my practice as much as my body would allow. That feels good and it feels good to explore where my creative muse is taking me.
It feels like something free-er is breaking through and emerging. Being born.
I also took an evening to play along on Instagram with the March Glue Book party hosted by Christine Hiester at Bare Branch Blooming. Basically, we all gathered on Instagram and followed the hashtag #margluebookparty16 while four prompts and two giveaways were posted during the evening. I wasn't sure how it would go because I generally resist specific prompts but it was so much fun. The energy was great and it stretched me beyond what I normally do. It felt good to simply play.

"Caring too much for objects can destroy you.Only - if you care for a thing enough, it takes on a life of its own, doesn't it? And isn't the whole point of things - beautiful things - that they connect you to some larger beauty?"
